John K. Ross
Research Associate
jross@ij.org

Ross plays a critical role producing in-house social science research on issues central to the Institute’s mission.  His work on eminent domain has received attention in publications including the Wall Street Journal, Reason magazine, and the Chicago Tribune.  His writing has appeared in the Orange County Register, the Detroit News, and the Washington Times.

Ross is an alumnus of the Institute for Humane Studies’ Koch Fellowship (Summer 2005) and internships at the Cato Institute and Tax Foundation.

He graduated magna cum laude from Towson University’s Honors College in 2005.  An international studies major, he has published on US-EU economic relations in the Towson Journal of International Affairs.

Through strategic litigation, communications, training, and outreach, the Institute for Justice advances a rule of law under which individuals can control their own destinies as free and responsible members of society. We litigate to secure economic liberty, school choice, private property rights, freedom of speech, and other vital individual liberties, and to restore constitutional limits on the power of government. Through these activities we challenge the ideology of the welfare state and illustrate and extend the benefits of freedom to those whose full enjoyment of liberty is denied by government. The Institute was founded in 1991 by William Mellor and Clint Bolick.
