Fulfilling the Promise of School Choice

In its Zelman decision last June, the U.S. Supreme Court validated once and for all the rights of parents to send their children to schools of their choosing.  But a great deal of policy and legal work remains until the promise of equal educational opportunities finally is realized for all children.  After Zelman, HAN member and former IJ clerk Ken Emanuelson, LSC 97, now an attorney in Dallas, began volunteering his time as part of a broad grassroots effort to secure school choice for Texas children desperately in need of access to good schools.  Thanks for your devotion and best of luck, Ken!  We hope to report on a legislative victory soon.
