Constitutional Law Fellowships for Law Firm Deferred Attorneys

Make the most of your public interest deferment opportunity!
The Institute for Justice, the nation’s leading libertarian public interest law firm, is encouraging third year students to apply to work at the Institute for Justice during their law firm deferment.

Founded in 1991, the Institute for Justice engages in cutting-edge constitutional litigation and advocacy, both in the courts of law and in the court of public opinion, on behalf of individuals whose most basic rights are denied by the government—like the right to earn an honest living, private property rights, the right to free speech and educational choice.

To apply, email a cover letter, resume and legal writing sample to IJ's Special Projects Manager Krissy Keys at kkeys@ij.org by April 30, 2010.

Institute for Justice Maffucci Fellowships

The Institute for Justice is seeking fellows for its internship program.  Two positions are available:  one focuses exclusively on the Castle Coalition and eminent domain, and the other works on all four of IJ's pillars.  The fellowship includes assisting with exciting research projects, helping track situations and legislation across the country, and providing valuable administrative support to staff on a variety of tasks. Interns gain inimitable experience on the front lines of the fight for liberty.

The Maffucci Fellowship is full-time and the duration is flexible, from 3 to 6 months. Fellows receive a monthly stipend, and undergraduates are encouraged to attempt to obtain academic credit for their work.  Law students should apply to our clerkship program (see below).

Candidates should possess exceptional writing skills, be attentive to detail, and have a strong commitment to individual freedom as well as a familiarity with eminent domain abuse, free speech issues, school choice and economic liberty.

Please send a cover letter (detailing your interest in the fellowship that you prefer), resume, and writing sample to the attention of:
