Accomplishments & Accolades

The most rewarding aspect of the Human Action Network is watching our members take up the challenge of applying their talents in the battle against overreaching government and in defense of individual liberty. Our congratulations and gratitude go out to two such HAN members:

Arthur Mark, Public Interest Attorney

Congratulations to Arthur Mark, LSC 00 and a 2002 graduate of Creighton University School of Law, on his appointment as an attorney and litigation fellow at Pacific Legal Foundation. In the mere six months since he made the move from Omaha to Sacramento, Arthur has begun developing his own caseload and drafted a law review article surveying the state of scholarship on the Commerce Clause. His current focus is challenging a California law that creates a forced contract procedure on unionized farmers. Best of luck to Arthur in his new career litigating for liberty!

Heath Weisberg, Pro Bono Litigator

IJ and St. Luke’s Church in North Hempstead, New York, extend their gratitude to HAN member Heath Weisberg, LSC 97. Heath, a 1999 graduate of New York University School of Law now in private practice with Simpson Thacher & Barlett in New York City, recently took over the representation of St. Luke’s in its challenge to New York’s oppressive eminent domain laws. The Church was condemned and bulldozed because the land had been designated a redevelopment area years before St. Luke’s purchased the property, but neither St. Luke’s nor the previous owner had been notified of the planned condemnation.
